Sullivan Giles

Sullivan has an extensive traditional fine arts background and holds a MFA in oil painting from the New York Academy of Art. From the Pacific Northwest, she grew up on Capitol Hill and has spent most of her life in Seattle. Her love of painting, tattoos, and her lifelong commitment to artistic pursuits led her to tattooing.

Sullivan apprenticed with the talented crew of Rabid Hands for two years starting in 2022 and has stayed on as a full time tattooer after graduating her apprenticeship. Her tattoo style is primarily illustrative, blending elements of neo-traditional and decorative art. While her tattoos differ significantly from her oil paintings and studio work, they’re rooted in the same deep appreciation for detail, line, and ornament.

Sullivan especially enjoys tattooing florals, botanicals, skulls and bones, insects, art nouveau inspired motifs and is happy to explore other subject matter and styles in black & grey or color. She also loves doing reproductions of 18th, 19th and 20th century botanical illustrations.

Sullivan’s books are always open and you can book with Sullivan by filling out her Appointment Request Form over on her website or scheduling a consultation with her. You can see more of her recent tattoo work on her instagram or personal website.

In her spare time you can find her painting, drawing flash, drinking coffee, and playing with her two young cats Tiramisu and Tatertot.
