Hildur Blom

Hildur began her tattoo journey as an apprentice under the kind, gentle guidance of Christen Wolfe. She’s daydreamed of tattooing since she was a child but never believed it was possible until she was lucky enough to meet and get taken under Christen’s wing. During her years learning from and working under her, she developed a special love for both black and grey and color illustrative tattoos, but she loves tattoos of all kinds. Before tattoo, Hildur worked for many years at a local pet shop and studied both biology and art at UW. Hildur found in tattoo a channel for her special interests which nature and the quiet magic it holds, especially animals and fungi as well as plants, folklore, and storytelling.

Hildur loves exploring the way that natures creatures hold quiet poetic parallels to our own lives and personal truths. The ability to embed something that looks simple and decorative with deeply personal meaning brings Hildur immense joy. The fulfillment of holding space for clients, wherever they’re at and sharing the tattoo experience, sharing time, art, conversation, joy, laughter, and sometimes tears with clients is a sacred privilege Hildur wouldn’t trade for anything.

Hildur found her way to the Rabid Hands family several years into her career during the pandemic. She used to wander the streets where our humble shop is located with her Bestemor (grandmother) as a baby, so finding her way into this particular shop, and sharing art and energy with this particular community felt like going home. Tattooing has been an immensely rewarding experience. Its provided her with so much healing and it’s a privilege to share a fraction of the same beautiful energy she’s been given with those who wish to wear her work.

If this resonates with you, and you’d like to add some of Hildur’s tattoo work to you collection, she would love to invite you to the shop for an in person consultation!

To book with Hildur, the best way to get in touch is directly through Instagram direct messages.
